Slip-on controller CM10 for various stepper motor drives

Just by snapping the CM10 on the driver the standard pulse-input driver becomes a driver with integrated controller. Therewith China Motor makes the installation and wiring of electric drives much easier. CM10 covers also various serial ports.

CM10 is just snapped on the driver. A separate controller and therefore the wiring between driver and controller are not necessary any more. The controller can be operated with direct command operation or with program execution. The direct command operation is suitable for applications where positioning data is updated frequently or managed at once by the PC or the programmable controller. Various interfaces like CANopen (CiA certified) are available.
The program execution allows the selection and starting of operation sequences related to conditions. Each sequence contains positioning and speed data and is started using an external input signal. CM10 can store 100 different operation programs, allowing the PC or the programmable controller to reduce the load and number of program.

CM10 has a mini USB port on the front panel and can be connected directly to a PC using a commercial USB cable. This is advantageous for maintenance since a special cable or an adapter is not required. Further serial ports are RS-232C, CANopen and I/O. Operating the CM10 by PC it is possible to make a daisy chain connection for multi-axes control with another CM10 or other products such as the ASX-Series. CM10 has a function of external encoder inputs which enables continuous monitoring the feedback position and position error.

CM10 includes the easy-to-use PC software „Immediate Motion Control for CM/SCX Series“. Setting the travel amount and speed, the operation can be started just with clicking the start button. Also, a program can be created easily by selecting the commands. Other functions, such as real time monitor for the teaching position, current position and I/O status, system parameter setting and I/O assignment are available.

Finally CM10 can operate as stand-alone controller. Utilizing 9 general inputs and 4 general outputs, a simple system can be configured without a PC or programmable controller.
